Dota Castle is in a location that affords it an unbroken view from Owari-no-kuni to Kani City. It is also famous for being the castle from which Ikoma was born.
It is said that Dota built this castle between 1469 and 1487. In 1556, Dota Gendayu died and Ikoma Chikashige and Chikamasa of Niwa gun Kori Castle became its new lords. Chikamasa served Oda Nobunaga and in 1574 he left Dota Castle.
